Skating Fun

Fun times skating @ our local skating rink Skatetown!!!! Future plans is to have a skating class to teach the introductory skaters how to skate. I might see if someone who can do tricks on skates can come teach the girls who already know how to skate how to skate backwards and how to race or some tricks.

Hope ya'll had fun. especially those who didn't feel comfortable enough to skate.

Love,
Mrs. Brandi

Fashion Show Meeting @ P.S. Aeropostale

Man oh Man we had a BLAST at this meeting. I wann say an extreme thank you to Mrs. Amber @ P.s. Aeropostale. She did an awesome job and all I had to do was keep up with the kids and take pictures. It was the best and the girls lovedddddddd it.
Here is some pictures from our little adventure in the world of fashion:

Brooke was an amazing helper as well. She and LeAnn helped take pictures and helped the girls pick out outfits. Here she is being silly.

Here is the girls learning how the staff knows what outfits go together. They learned alot about the business side of fashion and learned how to save money too and budget.

Here is the girls ringing up their outfits and seeing their savings.

Here is Team #1 and their under $50 outfit they picked out. Great job girls.

Here is team #2 and their under budget outfit. Super cute girls.

Hahahaha here is LeAnn pretending she is tired of shopping. heehee

M little fashionistas... Kaleigh, Candance, Peyton, Chloe, Catherine, Emily, and Shelby

Here is the whole group and Mrs. Amber and her assistant.

I have had a request from Brooke and Leann to please do this with the big girls (Jrs and up) so I have contacted another store and they have agreed to do this for us. I am in the process of setting this up.

Usually I say "I hope you had a fun time", but I don't have to say that this time. I KNOW they had fun. :)

Love,
Mrs. Brandi

WaterPark Day Trip Dum Dum Dum Dummmmmmmmm...

Girl Scout Troop #3029 loveddddddddd our trip to our local waterpark. They swam all day long and I couldn't have been more proud of them. They were very well mannered to each other and to other people at the park. They even made a couple of new friends. Definitely a must do again :)

Devin and Anna (daisy in training and a daisy)

Ella & Kate (Our new members we are super glad joined our group. Can't wait to show you how much fun we have.)

LeAnn & Brooke (both cadettes and future gs leaders in training. lol)

Jenna, Briana, & Natalie (This is Briana's first get together with us and she made new friends right away. I love seeing that!!!)

Candace & Catherine (Candace is new to our troop and she and Catherine hit it off right away. She also conquered her fear of water slides with the help of her new friend Catherine. Yeah Candance!!!.)

Morgan and Abby (Cousins and the best of friends. I love seeing how well they get along. They so take it after their mothers who I like to call our traveling buddies and friends.)

Oh look we picked up the other Morgan :) (She is semi new to our troop, but she will be a pro before long b/c she is going to Savannah, GA with us next summer to the birthplace. Gonna be fun fun fun!!!!)

Yeah 1 lesson I didn't get to harp on with the older girls was the sunscreen lesson. I did tell them to put it on during our meeting, but once they were in the park it was hard for me to catch up with them. Next time I will walk around with sunscreen and when I see them I will stop them then and there and make them put more on. Yes I know my daughter was the worst about it, but I solved that at home.

All in all it was a super little day trip!!!! Soooooooo can't wait to plan more fun.
Love ya'll,
Mrs. Brandi

Early Bird Glow Party

Girl Scout Troop #3029 had a blast last night as we celebrated our Early Bird Registration with a GLOW Party!!! We registered 22 girls into our troop for 2013-2014. (5 of them transferred from disbanning troops and 2 are totally new to scouting which excites me. I just love introducing girls to the awesome world of girl scouts for the first time.)

Avery and Candance  making SWAPS (new to troop 3029, but not new to girl scouts & we are so excited to have them!!!)

Emma, Sarah Kate, & Natalie. The 3 muskateers. They are having a blast with their new glow in the dark glasses and glow necklaces.

Shelby, Emily, Anna, Peyton, and Abbygayle

Sorry pictures are so hard to take in the dark. The girls loved glowing in the dark and black lights. They had glow in the dark fingernails, lipgloss, & hair stuff. They also got glow in the dark glasses, necklaces, bracelets, and beach balls that glows in the black light. They made glow in the dark and blacklight picture frames, homemade glitter glow sticks, and duck tape bow SWAPs that glowed in the blacklight.

We drew snack helper jewels and our secret sister names.

We also voted on the colors of our troop tshirt... Dum Dum Dummmmmmmmm...... it will be..................... lime green and pink

This is our amazing and awesome group!!!! We love to have fun and that... is what we succeed in doing!!!!

Next up Splashkingdom waterpark trip. :)

2013 Community Service

Community Service Fun
(Sorry I lost tons of my gs pictures when my other laptop broke. If my Dad is able to get them off my hard drive I will add more pictures later. P.s. I learned my lesson about not backing up my photos. Believe me Walgreen's is sooooooo happy to see me now. lol)

This past year our troop has focused on doing tons of community service projects to help out our community.

We helped beautify La and our local zoo... (I bought the girls gardening gloves and tools to take home for their own gardening projects.)

We helped serve supper to survivors at our local Relay 4 Life (this is our 2nd year to help serve supper and our 3rd year to volunteer at this event.) This event is very near and dear to our hearts since I am a survivor. I went through Breast cancer 3 yrs ago and still holding troop meetings while taking a year of chemo and having 8 surgeries. My girls and my gs parents are one of the main reasons I did so good during my treatments and is a survivor today.

(Mrs. Brandi and her daughter Brooke)

We said "Thank You" to our local veterans by singing Christmas Carols at our local VA Home. It really brightened their day and they loved it!!!

We donated supplies and our time at our local humane society. The girls got to learn about the shelter and how the animals cope while waiting to be adopted. We delivered donated food, supplies, and toys to the cute little kitties to us. We also got to play with the kitties and give them some much needed love only a kid can give. :)

We also participated in the following community service projects:

Worked at our local Food Bank (3 times)
Participated in Scouting 4 Food with the boyscouts of America
Donated hair to Locks for Love (Catherine :)
Served Breakfast to breast cancer survivors at our local Susan G Komen Race for the Cure
Helped clean up at our host church
Sent Girl Scout Cookies to a local soldier serving over seas. (9 cases)
Retired local flags for our community in a formal flag retirement ceremony
(We probably did more community service, but due to my photos being gone and my gs attendance binder being packed I can't remember anymore.)

Community Service plans for next year:
Hats off to Cancer
Race for the Cure (3rd annual)
Hats 4 the Homeless
Scouting for Food (7th annual)
Toy Drive
Cookies for St. Judes
Food Bank
War Veteran Home visit (pass out small gifts and chat with the residents)
72 Hr Food Pantry Kits
Relay 4 Life (3rd annual)
Beautify La Project (3rd annual)

We Loveeeeeeeeeee to help people!!!!! My goal is for teach the girls to serve others and hopefully the girls will grow up and help others as adults. That would make me super happy. :)

Keep Busy It's Fun,
Mrs. Brandi

2013 EarlyBird Meeting details

I just loved our photoshoot this past year. I wish everyone had been able to attend it. I plan on having another one next year and maybe all can be there. The girls had a blast posing with their friends and me. Looking forward to scrapbooking these photos at our Mom's Night Out scrapbook meeting. Yeah my troop has meetings for the mom's as well... Why should the girls be the only ones who have fun!!!! LOL. Us Mommies have just as much fun as ya'll at our meetings. :)

Next meeting will be our EARLY BIRD SURPRISE PARTY!!!! It is going to be awesome!!!! I have lots of awesome stuff planned and you all will be so sorry if you miss it. P.s. Wear clothes with white in them or neon colors. That is the only hint I will give. Gonna be the Bomb!!!   June 18 6pm-8pm at the church. P.s. Please bring your checkbook so you can reregister for girl scouts $13 and register for the Mall Lockin $20 (and if you are new to our troop you will need to bring our one time troop due of $20). (supper will be served)
